Erling Haaland cleared of wrongdoing after mascot accused striker of hitting her in back of head

In a bizarre Manchester City season that continues to get weirder, the club’s mascot named Moonbeam accused Erling Haaland of assaulting her.

The woman who was in the Moonbeam costume told The Sun that the Norwegian striker hit her in the back of the head while she was in the costume. She also said the blow required hospital treatment due to a concussion and whiplash.

The incident took place in October when Manchester City hosted Southampton.

Moonbeam filed an assault complaint to the police, however no further action was taken by the Greater Manchester Police.

"The club fully investigated and found that none of the evidence, including video footage, backed up the claim that an injury was sustained in the manner alleged," A Man City spokesperson said.

What a strange season for Manchester City.
