Bastian Schweinsteiger Says He's Ready To Play For Manchester United, But He Probably Won't

Bastian Schweinsteiger is not having a good year. We think. It's hard to be sure. We haven't seen much of him, really. Schweimsteiger hasn't appeared for Manchester United yet this season, and most people don't think that'll change.

Bastian Schweinsteiger, though, isn't most people. He's Bastian Schweinsteiger, and he's ready for action whenever Jose Mourinho needs him.

From ESPNFC:

"I don't know if I will get a chance, but I hope so. I still feel fit at 32 and certainly want to play more years at the top level, and of course I want to win things.

"We won the FA Cup last year and that was also one of my aims. Of course it would be great to play for United in the Premier League and perhaps win it.

"If I am needed, I will give everything -- I am ready."

This quote doesn't really mesh with the prevailing attitudes concerning Schweinsteiger's place at United, as you can see from this paragraph in The Guardian:

The former Germany captain is yet to play a single minute under José Mourinho in the Premier League this season and he met Chicago’s head coach, Veljko Paunovic, in Manchester on Friday. Negotiations are still at an early stage and nothing has been formally agreed.

So he's ready to play for Manchester United, but also he might be shipped off to America sooner reather than later. We think one of these statements is more likely to come to fruition than the other. We'll let you figure out which is which.
