This Keeper Can't Help Himself From Stealing The Match Ball Before Every Coin Flip

We've heard of some weird pre-game rituals among professional footballers. There's Kolo Toure, who had to be the last player to leave the locker room at Arsenal. There's Thibaut Courtois, who takes a picture of himself on the toilet and sends it to four friends in Belgium before every match. But Roman Burki's pre-game ritual might be the most entertaining to watch.

The Swiss keeper can't seem to help himself from stealing the match ball before the coin flip in every game. Seriously, he's like the Hamburglar, only instead of creeping around McDonaldland in a prison costume snatching hamburgers, he creeps around the Bundesliga in a goalie ensemble snatching balls from between the legs of unsuspecting refs. OK, that came out wrong. But you know what we mean.

Borussia Dortmund just a released a video celebrating their keeper's infamous pre-game ritual, and it's pretty funny to watch. We especially like the moment around the 30 second mark when Burki makes no attempt to be smooth about his attempt to steal the match ball.

Other great things about this video include: the half-apologetic look on Burki's face as he asks for the ball each time, the bemused look on the refs faces as they see him trying to get the ball and Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos (#25) telling Burki to f*ck off at the end.
