This Video Proves Rabona Assists Are Both Possible And Absolutely Filthy

The rabona kick is football’s version of a motorcycle. Yes, it’s cool and looks good, but you’re probably only going to hurt yourself. Wrapping your kicking leg around the back of your standing leg in order to strike the ball isn’t going to increase the accuracy of your service, but everyone’s going to know you’re a boss and that your hamstrings are in fine working order.

FC Dallas’ Fabian Castillo has just showed the world that a rabona pass isn’t just a clever bit of showmanship, it’s also the filthiest way to setup a goal imaginable. His rabona assist was beyond beautiful.

Castillo destroyed two Chicago Fire defenders with a flick before his inch-perfect delivery from a rabona allowed Maximiliano Urruti to open the scoring in the 23rd minute. Kids, don’t try this at home.

FC Dallas would go on to win the match 3-1. Major League Soccer couldn’t help themselves and had a little fun with the goal by turning it into a game breaker, a la FIFA Street.

The 24-year-old Colombian is enjoying another fine season with Dallas, having scored five goals and contributed five assists in 22 games. FC Dallas are currently leading the Supporters’ Shield race with the best record in MLS.

MLS continues up until July 24th, when league play will pause for six days during the All-Star break. The MLS All-Star Team plays Arsenal on July 28th in San Jose.
