16-Year-Old Olivia Moultrie Might Win NWSL Goal Of The Week Honors With Latest Effort

After becoming the youngest goal scorer in NWSL history last month, 16-year-old Portland Thorns prodigy Olivia Moultrie got her second of the season Saturday night and it'll certainly be up for Goal of the Week honors.

The Thorns welcomed Gotham FC to Providence Park with Portland near the top of the table and NJ/NY beneath the playoff line, and it only took the home side five minutes to open the scoring through Taylor Porter after Gotham failed to clear a corner kick.

Two minutes later, Moultrie doubled the advantage with a left-footed rocket from 20 yards out. Ashlyn Harris had no chance at getting to this one.

The teenager has two goals and two assists in eight appearances this year (four starts).

The match was effectively over inside 11 minutes with Morgan Weaver putting it on the doorstep for Marissa Everett to finish.

Hannah Betfort met Madison Pogarch's cross to make it 4-0 in the 65th, and Weaver made it 5-0 off Harris' mistake in the 80th.

Portland returns to action July 29 away to Racing Louisville. Gotham hosts Houston on July 31.
