Barcelona shared the points with Granada on Saturday with a 1-1 draw that saw a peach of an assist from Dani Alves. This truly felt like a blast from the past to see the 38-year-old doing what he does best in a Barcelona kit.
We at The18 recently looked at some of Alves’ best assists to Lionel Messi. Luuk de Jong was on the end of Alves’ ball against Granada, but we’re sure Messi would have been proud.

This was Alves’ first assist for Barcelona in LaLiga since 2016. The opponent he last got an assist against? Granada.
Despite the fantastic assist from Alves, the end of the game didn’t go smoothly for Xavi’s Barcelona. Phenom Gavi was shown a red card in the 79th minute and Granada found an equalizer in the final seconds of the game.

The result drops Barcelona to sixth place. If the season were to end with the current standings, then Barcelona fans would watch their team play in the Europa Conference League season. I guess it’s a new trophy that Alves could add to his cabinet.
