Racing Louisville FC Nadia Nadim suffers another ACL nightmare

Racing Louisville FC confirmed a season-ending knee injury for forward Nadia Nadim prior to Sunday's contest against Angel City FC.

Nadim tore her left ACL in Wednesday's 3-0 loss to the Portland Thorns, one year and one week after tearing the ACL in her right knee.

The 34-year-old from Denmark scored six goals in 11 appearances this season.

Football-related arrests in England and Wales up 59% on pre-COVID numbers

A total of 2,198 football-related arrests were made in the 2021-22 season in England and Wales, the highest number since the 2013-14 season, a report by the Home Office said on Thursday.

The 2021-2022 season was the first full season where all scheduled matches were played at full spectator capacity following the COVID-19 pandemic.

The arrests made last season were around 59% higher than those in the 2018-2019 season, which was before the COVID-19 pandemic. The most common offense types were public disorder (36%) and violent disorder (20%).

Guess Who's Back In The English Premier League?

Newcastle United have signed goalkeeper Loris Karius on a short-term contract until January with an option to extend the deal until the end of the season, the Premier League club said on Monday.

The 29-year-old has been signed as a replacement for Karl Darlow, who is sidelined with an ankle injury.

"We are pleased to add Loris to our goalkeeping group. He is a very good goalkeeper with Premier League and European experience and he will provide competition and support over an important part of the season," manager Eddie Howe said.

Cádiz Keeper Hailed As Hero After Running Defibrillator To Fan Suffering Heart Attack

A stoppage in the Barcelona-Cádiz match saw the Cádiz keeper sprint a defibrillator across the pitch to the stands where a fan was suffering heart issues. The match was suspended, and players were sent to the locker room in the 82nd minute with Barcelona leading.

According to reports, a Barcelona doctor ran to the stands to tend to the fan in distress. The Cádiz goalkeeper, Jeremías Conan Ledesma, then stepped into action, sprinting to bring a defibrillator to the fans. Additionally, Cádiz player José Mari helped bring a stretcher across the field.
