The 2018 Tournament of Nations is set to get under way on July 26. The competition consists of a series of friendly games between four of the world’s top women’s national teams. Like last summer, this year’s edition will feature the national teams of Australia (ranked 8th by FIFA), Brazil (7th), Japan (6th) and the hosts, the United States (1st).

Yesterday, USWNT coach Jill Ellis released her preliminary list of 25 players for the tournament.

With the major leagues around a month away from kicking off, the kit releases have been dropping thick and fast. Whether it be a wacky design or a more classy, traditional-looking jersey, the kit release is always something fans look forward to in the offseason.

The home Nigeria World Cup kit made waves in the world of soccer gear, as it was an instant hit amongst fans and kit collectors. The kit has been labeled by many as the best looking jersey out of all the teams at the World Cup.

It doesn’t get any more iconic than the home shirts of both Real Madrid and Barcelona. As Los Blancos (The Whites), Real is synonymous with its all-white kit. For the Blaugrana (a Catalan reference to blue and garnet), it’s stripes of the aforementioned colors. But that hasn’t stopped both Adidas and Nike from trying to shake things up on an annual basis. 

A spot at the 2018 FIFA World Cup just wasn’t to be for New Zealand, the OFC representatives losing 2-0 on aggregate to a Peru side riding on the wave of destiny. But it’s not all doom and gloom for the All Whites, because just look at this jersey release from Nike.

Real Madrid did something you might have noticed in the first leg of its Champions League semifinal against Bayern Munich — Los Blancos wore their black kit instead of their traditional white kit. Despite the colors of white and Bayern Munich’s red not clashing, Real Madrid stepped onto the Allianz Arena turf decked out in its black away kit.
