Three months ago, AS Roma president James Pallotta said that Alisson would not be sold, even for a massive “sack of money.” But when that sack of money turned out to be $87.4 million — shattering the previous most expensive goalkeeper transfer — the Italian club just couldn’t refuse. 

Usain Bolt, the fastest man in the world, is set for a six-week trial with Australian A-League club Central Coast Mariners. If Bolt manages to impress, he could secure a one-year deal with the Mariners.

French champion Paris Saint-Germain bid the equivalent of just over $316 million for Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho, as reported by Mundo Deportivo. The world-record bid was sought through Coutinho’s agents as a mediator with Barcelona. The 26-year-old Brazilian does have a $470 million release clause in his contract with Barcelona.

Fernando Torres just finished his time at boyhood club Atletico Madrid, and he's now a free agent. The world is his oyster. Torres is 34 years old, and he's obviously coming to the twilight of his career. But, as he showed for Atletico this past season in La Liga and the Europa League, there's still life in him.

Paris Saint-Germain signed former Juventus goalkeeper, Italian football legend and the real Terminator Gianluigi Buffon on a free transfer on Friday. At 40 years old and after 17 years of service with Juventus, for which he played 656 times, Gigi is back in the game. 

The nine-time Serie A champion was rumored to step into a managerial spot for Juve but instead signed a one-year contract, with a one-year renewal option with French champion PSG.
