One of the world’s most unique and outgoing soccer broadcasters is hanging up the headset. The incredible Ray Hudson announced on Tuesday that he will retire from calling games.

Hudson’s passion for the game was unmatched when in the broadcast booth. If you even say the word “magisterial” to a soccer fan, their brain will go immediately to Hudson calling a Lionel Messi goal.

At 70 years old Hudson has decided it’s time for him to call it a career. And what a 23-year broadcasting career it was.

Inter Miami striker Luis Suárez has committed a heinous act once again in his notorious career, this time spitting on a Seattle Sounders staff member following the Leagues Cup final. Two days have passed and a big question remains unanswered: Will there be a Luis Suárez suspension?

Suárez, who has bitten three different opponents during his career, decided to keep the teeth in check after Sunday’s 3-0 Leagues Cup final defeat to the Seattle Sounders. Instead the 38-year-old opted to use his saliva as a weapon and spat on Sounders security staff member Gene Ramírez.

Portugal have paid tribute to Diogo Jota by passing his number 21 jersey to his close friend and former teammate Ruben Neves, following the forward's death in a car crash last month, national team coach Roberto Martinez said.

Neves, a midfielder at Saudi side Al-Hilal, was a pallbearer at Jota's funeral. The Liverpool forward died aged 28 with his younger brother, Andre Silva, in northwestern Spain after their Lamborghini veered off the road and burst into flames.

Soccer managerial icon José Mourinho was sacked once again on Friday as Turkish club Fenerbahce parted ways with “the Special One” following the club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Mourinho has now been let go by Fenerbahce, Roma, Tottenham and Manchester United all in the previous seven years. Needless to say it seems that the 62-year-old manager has lost some of his flair in Europe.
