We have just witnessed one of the greatest goals ever scored at the European championship. The second Patrik Schick goal vs Scotland, launched from just within the midfield line, was the type of goal that will be replayed for decades to come, especially in the Czech Republic.

Schick opened the scoring in the Group D match on Monday with a glancing header a few minutes before halftime. Seven minutes into the second half, he doubled his and his country’s tally in spectacular fashion, spotting David Marshall off his line and perfectly lobbing the keeper from midfield.

The ESPN Euro 2020 announcers are part of excellent team covering the tournament in the U.S. Veteran play-by-play men like Derek Rae and Jon Champion are joined by veteran hosts Rece Davis and Kelly Cates, and only some of the commentators are full of hot air. But one announcer pairing stands out as easily being the worst part of the broadcasts, and it’s mostly because of Steve Cangialosi’s audio levels.

COPENHAGEN — Denmark's Christian Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest when he collapsed during his side's Euro 2020 opening match against Finland, his team's doctor confirmed on Sunday, but the reason remained unclear.

A couple hours after the soccer world fell to a hush as Christian Eriksen collapsed unconscious during the Denmark-Finland Euro 2020 match on Saturday, Belgium kicked off its match against Russia with three current or former teammates of Eriksen’s in the starting lineup. One of those teammates opened the scoring, Romelu Lukaku blasting Belgium into the lead in the 10th minute.

First, the good news: Christian Eriksen is awake, stable and talking. After what happened in the first half of Denmark’s match against Finland at Euro 2020, none of that was a given. The bad news for Denmark: There was still a match to play, one that saw Finland win 1-0 in its first-ever appearance at a major international tournament.
