OL Reign change name and logo back to original look in rebrand everyone wanted

If there’s one NWSL team name we weren’t the biggest fans of it was “OL Reign.” That won’t be an issue anymore as an OL Reign rebrand will see the club revert to their roots with a name change to Seattle Reign FC and a revamped crest.

Women’s soccer icon Megan Rapinoe had her career end less than three minutes into the NWSL Championship on Saturday as she suffered a non-contact injury. The Rapinoe injury cast a shadow over Gotham FC’s 2-1 victory vs. OL Reign.

In a match that was highly advertised as Megan Rapinoe vs. Ali Krieger in both of their final games, Rapinoe’s unfortunate injury took all the headlines.

Rapinoe, 38, and Krieger, 39, entered Saturday’s NWSL Championship knowing it was their final professional game. What no one knew was that Rapinoe’s night would be over in the third minute.

It could be Rapinoe’s final professional game.

Rapinoe has already retired from the USWNT and will hang up her boots at the end of the 2023 NWSL season. The 38-year-old forward has spent the last 10 years with OL Reign but has never won a championship.

Opening weekend of the NWSL season continued Sunday with the Washington Spirit welcoming OL Reign to Audi Field, where Trinity Rodman brought the crowd to its feet with some sublime quality on the ball and a solo game-winner in the second half.

We had a scoreless opening 45 in the nation's capital, but Rodman established herself as the standout player with a couple brilliant moments.

NWSL players in disbelief over how bad some of their FIFA 23 characters look

The National Women’s Soccer League getting added to EA Sports’ FIFA video game series felt too good to be true. The long overdue addition of the American league to the game took place on March 15. 

It’s been a week since the update and players aren’t thrilled about how poorly they look in the game. Several players have taken to Twitter to show off just how bad the animations turned out.

The issues range from some player appearing much whiter in the game than in real life to being bald. Yikes EA.
