Giovani Dos Santos Proves His Feet Are Made Of Velvet With Another Absurd Goal

After a rough start to the 2017 MLS season for both Giovani dos Santos and the LA Galaxy, the club are now unbeaten in their last four matches following Sunday’s 2-1 away win over Minnesota United — a run that has seen Dos Santos register three goals and an assist.

Dos Santos was just recently called up by Juan Carlos Osorio as part of the Mexico squad that will contest two vital World Cup qualifiers and the FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia throughout June, and this goal shows why he's likely to make the final 23-man cut. While there’s arguments over whether a player in his prime with the quality of Dos Santos should be playing in MLS, the 28-year-old remains one of the most audaciously skilled players in El Tri’s arsenal.

Romain Alessandrini, who provided the assist here, has also been a revelation in his debut season with Los Angeles. The former Marseille player has scored six goals and registered four assists in 11 matches, and the Galaxy are now only two points behind sixth-placed Vancouver in the Western Conference playoff standings.

For Minnesota, dropping points at home on an 84th minute own goal from Christian Ramirez is going be a difficult pill to swallow. They’re now five points out of the playoff picture with Orlando City visiting next weekend.
