A horror tackle on Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala overshadowed Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-0 victory in the Club World Cup on Saturday. The Gianluigi Donnarumma reaction to Musiala injury said it all.
Moments before halftime the two players collided in PSG’s penalty area as the Italian goalkeeper came out to claim the ball. Donnarumma took out Musiala in the process and the German’s leg got stuck under the goalkeeper.
What happened next is one of the worst injuries we’ve seen in the sport. The PSG goalkeeper was overwhelmed with emotion.

Musiala was carried out on a stretcher and taken to a hospital. The new Bayern No. 10 will miss a serious amount of time for club and country. We hope it’s a speedy recovery.
Unfortunately for Donnarumma the fans inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium jeered and booed him every time he touched the ball in the second half.
Some fans online point the blame at FIFA and the Club World Cup for making clubs play extra games outside the regular season. Blame who you want, but what happened to Musiala was a freak accident that could’ve happened in any game.
PSG went on to win the game despite receiving two red cards. Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé scored late in the second half to secure their side’s place in the Club World Cup semifinals where they will face with winner of Dortmund/Real Madrid.
