Ali Kreiger gets her flowers (literally) in final goodbye to the USWNT

Ali Krieger hung up her boots as the 39-year-old defender ended her career with a punctuation mark after lifting the NWSL Championship with Gotham FC. The United States women’s national team got a chance to say thanks to the U.S. legend before a friendly vs. China on Tuesday.

Krieger’s 108th and final appearance with the national team came in January 2021 and U.S. Soccer did the right thing in organizing a proper ceremony for the stalwart defender.

Here was the moment Krieger received her flowers and thanks from the USWNT.

Ali Krieger USWNT farewell

Krieger's family came for the farewell as her mother, her brother Kyle and two adopted children, Sloane and Ocean joined her on the field.

The USWNT great finishes her international career with two World Cup wins and over 100 appearances.

Highlights of her career featured in the farewell video from the USWNT. Those big moments included her decisive penalty during the shootout vs. Brazil in the 2011 World Cup semifinal, her one goal for the USWNT that came vs. China in 2013 and of course her NWSL triumph.

Krieger is now living the good and single life. She recently divorced from former USWNT goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris and has posted on Instagram that she basically just lives on the beach now.

What a legend. Thanks for all the memories, Krieger.
