Mario Götze Saves The Day For Two Young Fans Afraid Friends Would Laugh At Their Jerseys

Last Christmas, two young sisters and Borussia Dortmund fans received jerseys with the names of Ousmane Dembélé and Emre Mor on the back. A solid present if there ever was one. However, much to the dismay of Olivia (8), Emily (11) and Dortmund supporters everywhere, both of these exciting players left the club this summer with Dembélé making a move to Barcelona and Mor finding a new home at Celta Vigo.

The transfers left Olivia and Emily's once-awesome shirts rather irrelevant. The father of the girls, in typical dad-to-the-rescue fashion, wrote to German newspaper Bild asking if they could help.

"The girls are really disappointed," Papa Gregor said. "They do not want to wear the jerseys anymore, because they are afraid to be laughed at by friends."

Luckily, one of the reader’s was Mario Götze and he promised to remedy the situation.

He wrote on his official Facebook page, "Sad fans at the start of the season are always a no go! We may not be Mr. Watzke but Schmelle and I would like to nevertheless gift you new shirts."

It’s always nice to see footballers make it a personal mission to put a smile on fans’ faces. No doubt these little girls will be cheering even louder for BVB this season.
