No. It’s not Cristiano Ronaldo. It’s not the German defense. It’s not someone who has ever said a word to Leo Messi. In fact, it's not a someone at all.
In the past 20 years, no other player in the world has hit the woodwork more than Lionel Messi. Since 1994 the Argentine has shaken the frame 49 times, which includes the ridiculous eight times he has already hit the posts this La Liga season.
The latest was last week against Getafe when Messi almost curled in what would have been the game-winning goal, but he hit nothing but metal. It’s not like Messi has been in a rut because of his propensity for hitting the post. The Argentine legend has never failed to score goals, and is leading the Barcelona squad with 13 of them this season. That is good for second place behind Cristiano Ronaldo who has a RIDICULOUS 25 La Liga goals already. Here is a video of the unlucky instances that Messi has had to deal with.
