Watch This Monster Lash A Strike From The Halfway Line Off The Post And In

Barnet threw down against Enfield Town in the Middlesex Senior Cup, a competition involving Greater London clubs that we know f*** all about. Enfield Town play in the semi-professional Isthmian League, and their club badge features the Enfield beast, a fictitious creature with the head of a fox, the chest of a greyhound, the body of a lion, the legs and tail of a wolf and eagle’s talons.

But the true beast on the day didn’t play for Enfield, the savage was on League Two side Barnet, and his name is Joe Payne. Payne is a real creature who spends his days brooding in defense before unleashing himself on unsuspecting victims. He’s now a viral legend thanks this banger.

Yes, it’s a poor clearance from Enfield Town’s goalkeeper, and, yes, you’re a cynical bastard, but this is pure genius from Payne. He’s just inside the half, and he’s closer to the touchline than the center circle. If he hits this near the center of the goal with loft, the keeper probably easily snatches it out of the air. Instead, his angled drive is hit with pace and crashes off the post and in.

This is one of the best goals from distance we’ve ever seen.

The Barnet Beast is on the loose. Stay on the road, keep clear of the moors and beware the moon, lads.
