A Grown Man Who Works For Cologne Threw Gum At A Grown Man Who Works For Hoffenheim

FC Cologne sporting director Jorg Schmadtke unleashed his inner schoolboy this weekend when, just after Hoffenheim scored a 90th minute equalizer against Cologne, he threw gum at Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsmann.

Yes you read that right. Gum. Like, the thing you chew in your mouth that either makes your breath smell better or allows you to blow bubbles with it.

This wasn't just any gum. This was what we in elementary school would refer to as "ABC gum."

Like, you would go up to someone at recess or whatever and say "hey, do you want some ABC gum?" And your unwitting victim would ask you what "ABC gum" is and you would answer "Already Been Chewed" and then laugh uproariously because children.

Schmadtke took an actual piece of gum out of his actual mouth and threw it at Julian Nagelsmann.

We have so many questions about the gum. What flavor was it? What brand? Had it already lost its flavor when Schmadtke threw it? Did Schmadtke casually take out another piece and chew it like nothing happened?

That is a high-quality third-grade-level shenanigan he pulled. Except for Jorg Schmadtke isn't in third grade. He's 52.

This and another incident in which he called referees "eggheads" has us wondering if Schmadtke is in fact a third-grader masquerading as a 52-year-old man.

He later apologized for the gum incident, but we can't help but wonder if there was an adult behind him sternly reminding him to "say it like you mean it."
