Forget The Past. Chicharito’s New Coach And Teammates Say They See How Good He Is.

Javier Hernandez has made quite the impression at Bayer Leverkusen. Since his transfer to the club, Leverkusen has seen its homepage crash from an exceptional amount of visits, its Facebook and Twitter like and retweet records broken, and sold some 100 CH7 jerseys.

All that was to be expected from the most popular Mexican player in the world. Fans of El Tri are nothing if not passionate, and they have a large social media presence. However, it seems that Chicharito has made almost as big an impression on his teammates as his fans have made on his team’s online presence. And let’s be honest, getting anywhere close to the interpersonal equivalent of 15,000 retweets is nothing to scoff at.

Stefan Kiessling, a man that knows a thing or two about scoring goals, has hailed Chicharito, despite the Mexican being his prime competition for a starting spot.

"He's just a great footballer. He's speedy and can help us to confuse the opponents."

Leverkusen’s goalkeeper, Bernd Leno, had more to say: "He brings a lot of experience to our young squad."

And midfielder Lars Bender got in on the action as well: "It's just a great story. We got more quality with him. That such a player joins us, shows that we have provide more sporting attraction."

All this points to the sentiment that Chicharito’s move to Bayer Leverkusen was a brilliant one for all involved. yes, he still has to prove himself, but he will at least have a real chance to do so; something he didn’t have at Manchester United under manager Louis “Scoundrel” van Gaal.

Hernandez, for his part, has said all the right things. Clearly, his teammates are excited to have him. His coach described him as a player “you don’t need a scout for.”

Everything is looking up. It’s up to Hernandez to make sure that becomes reality.
