The 14-year-old plays for Al Nassr’s academy and will now wear the national team shirt for the first time in his young career.

Some American fans will be slightly bummed by the news as they were holding on to the tiniest sliver of hope that Ronaldo Jr. would play for the United States. Born in La Mesa, California, the youngster could technically play for the USMNT if he chose to do so.
The option will still be on the table despite the call-up for Portugal’s U15 squad. We still have hope!
Ronaldo Jr. has played for the academy sides of his father’s clubs including Al Nassr, Manchester United and Juventus.
