Substitute Clint Dempsey dribbled through the Costa Rica defense set up Jozy Altidore for the first goal of the night as the USMNT defeated Costa Rica 1-0 to advance to the CONCACAF Gold Cup final.

Then, in front of his hometown fans, Dempsey acquired the USMNT all-time scoring record with a free kick. He's now tied with Landon Donovan with 57 goals apiece.

This tournament has largely sucked but hey the USMNT might actually win the thing so that's something, right? Also, I am very happy for Clint Dempsey. The USMNT will face the winner of Mexico-Jamaica on Wednesday in the final.
