Can Paul Pogba Fit In Yaya Toure’s Boots?

With the summer transfer window soon to be opened, all eyes are looking to the most financially fit clubs and desirable players to see who will draw the biggest price tag.

The ex-Manchester United starlet, Paul Pogba, is among the top five most sought out players to strengthen any midfield he graces. Who hasn't contacted his agent is the question to ask when discussing where the French midfielder will go. Paris St. Germain seems to be the best fit for Pogba, as it is closer to home, but the deep pockets of the two Manchester clubs, as well as Barcelona and Real Madrid, could persuade him otherwise.

City are the most recent club to hold talks with Paul Pogba and could be looking to secure their future starting XI with more youthful players. Vincent Kompany, Yaya Toure, and Martin Demichelis are only a few of the starting players hinted at leaving the club because of age. Yaya Toure’s position would be the most natural fit for Pogba alongside Ferandinho and Fernando, and his scoring ability could relieve the pressure off the wingers.

After his arrival from Manchester United in 2012, the France international has become a major part of the Juventus midfield, scoring 20 goals in 86 appearances. His statistics alone speak enough, but his creative brilliance to shift the ball from a defensive to an attacking position proves former manager Sir Alex Ferguson wrong. What the Scot believed to be Pogba's lack of respect on and off the field has turned into a world-class football. He reflects what Yaya Toure achieved in his younger years with Barcelona and what he has become with Manchester City.

Representatives in charge of meeting with players for possible transfers to Manchester City have travelled to Turin, Italy to talk with Pogba and discuss a move back to England. Without a doubt Pogba would be a brilliant investment for Manchester City, but whether or not he can be obtained for the right price is the biggest obstacle. Pellegrini’s side have already been hurt by breaking Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules in previous years, and could sacrifice other prospective transfer targets if they decide to pay a hefty price for Pogba. The only question left for Manuel Pellegrini and his staff will be whether or not Pogba can be the difference City needs to win the title back.
