The Argentina National Team Has A Coach Now, But Still No Messi

Following Tata Martino's resignation after the Copa America Centenario, the Argentina National Team has a new manager: Edgardo Bauza.

Bauza comes to La Albiceleste from Sao Paulo, the same club the Mexico National Team lured their current manager, Juan Carlos Osorio, away from. Bauza, an Argentine, collected three caps for the team he now manages.

Bauza has been a manager for almost 20 years, collecting multiple Copa Libertadores trophies in that time.

Argentina, famously, has not won a major international tournament in more than 20 years, even though they have the best player of all time and their attack is a who's who of international superstars. Also famously, many of these international superstars have either declared their retirement from international soccer or are threatening to.

Bauza has one major responsibility before the next World Cup. He has to get Lionel Messi, who will miss the next round of World Cup qualifiers, Bauza's first games as manager, back in the fold.
