2017 Champions League Venue Announced

It’s been set. The Champions League Final will be held in the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, and the Europa League Final will be at the Friends Stadium in Stockholm, Sweden.

The two locations were chosen from a lottery system that doesn’t allow stadiums to be picked more than two years in a row. Maybe a certain position at FIFA should consider a lottery system instead of taking bribes, just a thought.

The 74,500 seat stadium in Wales will host an amazing atmosphere for the final no matter which two clubs make it all the way. The Welsh get to double their fortune as the Millennium Stadium will also host the Women’s Champions League Final as well in the same year.

“Today’s announcement is the culmination of two years of hard work and I’d like to thank all those who’ve helped the FAW fulfill its ambition of staging a UEFA Champions League final” said chief executive of the Welsh FA Jonathan Ford.

Wales recent success in the Euro Qualifiers has sent a surge around the country to promote Welsh football on a national level as they sit in first place in Group B above Belgium.

Aaron Ramsey, who has played a huge part of the current squad, said: “What a season it has been for Wales and Welsh Football. The unforgettable support and atmosphere at our recent match against Belgium, Wales topping their UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying group and now this wonderful news. I would love to be part of it.”

With Arsenal’s big summer signings so far, it could very well be possible that their campaign in the Champions League will go farther than the round of 16. He will face some fierce competition, though, from his fellow Welsh teammate, and Real Madrid forward, Gareth Bale.
