Watch: Scotland fan receives hero’s welcome in Munich after walking 1,000+ miles from Glasgow

MUNICH — Scotland fan Craig Ferguson received a hero's welcome as he arrived in central Munich's picturesque Marienplatz on Thursday, having walked some 1,000 miles from Glasgow over the last 41 days to raise money for men's mental health charities.

Hundreds of Scottish fans cheered and sang as he arrived in the square, and sprayed him with beer.

A beaming Ferguson said he was exhausted but elated.

"I'd be lying if I said that this hasn't been the hardest thing I've ever done... I just used the adrenaline and the motivation of almost being at the finish line, just to really carry me over," he said.

He arrived a day before Germany play Scotland in the opening match of Euro 2024 in the city.

"I would not change it for a second. You know, every last bit of this journey, the good and the bad, has led me here. We've raised over $64,000 for charity," Ferguson said.
