New Video Shows Liverpool’s Shambolic Set Piece Defending During Training

Liverpool are horrible at defending set pieces. I don’t have any facts or figures to back up that statement, but every commentator says the same thing and I don’t see them pointing to any evidence. It’s just accepted that, like every other team on the planet, they cannot defend a great set piece.

It goes without saying that if the ball is driven right at some guy who’s taller, stronger and jumps higher than his marker, then it should be a goal. But we need someone to blame and something to talk about, so it’s a lot more fun to create a narrative about how Jurgen Klopp has one weakness and that’s making his players grow.

No matter how many times Klopp tells Alberto Moreno that he cherishes him, believes in him and should jump as high as possible on corners, this still won’t stop the diminutive defender from bossing Romelu Lukaku, but let’s not worry about that.

There’s clearly something amiss at Liverpool’s Melwood training ground, and we think the latest LEAKED VIDEO shows that. Here you’ll see Dejan Lovren and Trent Alexander-Arnold trying to clear the danger, but they’re struggling to find the right direction. It's a shambles.

There’s some good communication going on out there, and they’re technically continuing to win the first ball, but they’ve got to quit dicking around and clear their lines.

Here’s what Klopp had to say about Liverpool’s set piece woes:
