Christian Eriksen Returns To Inter And Continues Rehabilitation Program

Fifty three days after collapsing on the pitch at Parken from cardiac arrest and 47 since being released from the hospital with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), Christian Eriksen has returned to Inter Milan’s training training base in Appiano Gentile.

According to the club’s website: “The Danish midfielder met the club directors, the coach, teammates and all of the staff present. Eriksen is doing well and is in excellent physical and mental shape. He will now follow the recovery program put forward by Danish doctors in Copenhagen, who will also coordinate the clinical follow-up. The Inter medical staff will naturally be kept informed and up to date throughout the process.”

His playing future is uncertain, but Eriksen wouldn’t be allowed to play in Italy until the ICD device is removed, “therefore confirming the pathology can be resolved.”

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Eriksen will now undergo tests to see if that’s possible, and the results will take seven to 10 days. The midfielder won’t be able to return for at least six months.
