Iniesta Gives Another Lesson In Fine Arts Football With A Second Stunner In Japan

Former Spain and Barcelona man Andrés Iniesta has taken his talents across the world to Japan, and though at 34 he is in the tail end of his career, the legend is certainly showing no indication he will be going quietly into that good night. Rather, it seems his mission is to bust open the J-League at the seams one golazo at a time.

He may be nearing senior citizen status in the football world but you can be sure Don Andrés has not lost a step. Iniesta’s brain seems just as sharp, feet just as quick as they were a decade ago. Not convinced? The man ended a Japanese defender and sent the internet into a frenzy this past weekend with a jaw-dropping spin move for his opening J-League goal

On Wednesday, he showed again how he’s a magician with the ball and tricks upon tricks up his sleeve. Making his fifth appearance for his new club Vissel Kobe against Sanfrecce Hiroshima, the Spaniard took up the ball in the left of midfield, cut inside and after dropping a shoulder or two rifled a shot upper 90 past an outstretched keeper.

Questions have to be asked of the defending, particularly on that first one-on-one, but the quality of the second Andres Iniesta goal in Japan cannot be denied. Iniesta’s popularity in Japan has soared with his arrival and there might soon be a monument in his honor in the works if he keeps lighting the league on fire like this.
