11 USWNT stars among the 15 highest-paid players at the Women's World Cup

If you've ever wondered who are the highest-paid women's soccer players on the planet, well, Forbes just published an article digging into the finances of the main stars at the 2023 Women's World Cup.

The business magazine talked to 20 experts in the industry to create their estimates and considered the players' salaries on-field as well as their main earnings off-field (endorsements, licensing, cash returns, etc).

Among the 15 highlighted athletes, 11 are part of the USWNT team, with striker Alex Morgan grabbing the No. 1 spot on the list after checking in for $7.1 million last year.

Sure, that's lightyears from the $200 million Cristiano Ronaldo makes a year in Saudi Arabia, however, it shows that the women's game is starting to cook and becoming profitable for those who try to make a living from it — something that you couldn't have said 10 years ago.
