Toronto FC part ways with head coach Bob Bradley

Toronto FC parted ways with head coach and sporting director Bob Bradley on Monday after a 3W-7L-10D start to the 2023 MLS season.

Toronto also relieved assistant coach and technical director Mike Sorber of his duties and named Terry Dunfield as the interim head coach.

The Reds are in 14th place in the 15-team Eastern Conference through 20 matches. Only Inter Miami (17) and the New York Red Bulls (17) have scored fewer goals in the East than Toronto (18).

"Bob has been a consummate professional with Toronto FC and we thank him for his passion and tireless work during his time here," TFC president Bill Manning said in a release. "We are all disappointed that we were not able to achieve the results we expected."

Bradley, 65, guided Toronto to a 9W-18L-7D record in his first season at the helm in 2022.

Bradley is a three-time MLS Coach of the Year (1998, 2006 and 2019) and a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame. The well travelled Bradley has coached in England, Egypt, Norway, the Netherlands along with five MLS clubs. He coached the Chicago Fire to an MLS Cup championship in 1998 and led Los Angeles FC to the Supporters' Shield in 2019.

Bradley also coached the U.S. men's national team from 2006-11, winning the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2007 and qualifying for the World Cup in 2010.

Dunfield, 41, has been serving as the head coach of Toronto's U-17 academy team since 2017.
