The win opened up a five-point gap at the top ahead of Inter's match against Cagliari later in the day. Inter has to win or the title belongs to Milan.
If Inter takes care of business, Milan just needs an away win or draw against Sassuolo next Sunday to claim the title. Inter hosts Sampdoria at the San Siro that same day.
