Suárez will sign a one-year contract with the option to renew for a second year.
David Beckham’s Inter Miami were linked to Suárez during the summer transfer window, however it ultimately ended with the Uruguayan striker staying in Brazil with his club Gremio.
The 36-year-old forward will finish the 2023 season in Brazil and join Messi and company for the start of the 2024 MLS season.
During the 2023 season Inter Miami had Josef Martínez and Leonardo Campana as the two center forwards. Martínez’s contract with the club expires at the end of the year and Miami elected not to renew it. This clears the way for Suárez to become the new No. 9.
Suárez has played well in Brazil’s Série A this season contributing 10 goals and 10 assists through 26 games.
Having the likes of Messi, Suárez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba all together again will be a Barcelona rebirth and make Inter Miami a team to watch for next season.
Messi and Suárez played at Barcelona together for six seasons and combined for a ridiculous 475 goals (Suárez with 195 and Messi with 280).
