Kylian Mbappé out for 3 weeks with hamstring injury and will miss several huge games

Paris Saint-Germain’s star boy and top scorer Kylian Mbappé will miss the next three weeks with a hamstring injury. The Mbappé injury means he’ll miss PSG’s first leg Round of 16 Champions League game vs. Bayern Munich on Feb. 14.

On Wednesday the 24-year-old Frenchman had a rough night during PSG’s Ligue 1 meeting with Montpellier where he missed two penalties and left early due to the hamstring issue and a knock to the knee. Mbappé suffered the injury after a tackle from Leo Leroy.

“After undergoing tests, Kylian Mbappé suffered an injury to the left thigh at the level of the femoral biceps. He is expected to be out of action for three weeks,” PSG said in a club statement on Thursday.

The first leg vs. Bayern isn’t the only big game he’ll miss. Mbappé will have to watch next Wednesday’s Le Classique from the stands as PSG look to defeat Marseille in the Coupe de France’s Round of 16.

In total he’ll miss a minimum of five games across all competitions.

Sergio Ramos was also injured during the Montpellier match and the extent of his injury is unknown.
