Wenger Watch Europa League Special: Slightly Less Panicking For Now

The Wenger Watch took the weekend off because we care deeply about work-life balance, but we're back to chart Arsene Wenger's career prospects as he and Arsenal venture into the Europa League group stage.

After much deliberation we have decided to put the Wenger-O-Meter in the MIDDLE. We are AMBIVALENT at this time. It could go EITHER WAY.

Sure, signing day was bad and losing to Liverpool was bad, but they came back and beat Bournemouth and then conquered Cologne, no easy task given the German club brought so many rowdy fans to London they had to postpone the match for an hour.

So, yeah, we're putting this bad boy in the MIDDLE.

Arsene Wenger

Thank Alexis Sanchez, because after Arsenal went down via a David Ospina silly thing and equalized via summer signing Sead Kolasinac (who, as a defender, already has two goals and two assists in all competitions), the Chilean took matters into his own hands to send Arsenal past Cologne and into the Europa League Group H driver's seat.

The driver's seat is where Arsenal want to be, as one of the favorites to win the whole tournament.

Not bad for a player who has spent the last two months looking like he did NOT want to be at Arsenal.

Arsenal play Chelsea on Sunday, which means the Wenger-O-Meter will be in a much sillier position next week. Unless they tie.
