New Netflix docuseries will go behind-the-scenes of the USWNT’s disastrous 2023 World Cup

Netflix announced the name and release date for the docuseries following the United States women’s national team's journey at the 2023 World Cup. “Under Pressure” will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the USWNT in New Zealand/Australia and comes out on Dec. 12.

Netflix USWNT World Cup documentary

The four-episode series will follow the likes of Alex Morgan, Lindsey Horan, Sofia Huerta, Alyssa Thompson, Megan Rapinoe, Lynn Williams and Kristie Mewis during the lead up and actual 2023 World Cup run.

The USWNT’s historically poor performance at the 2023 World Cup has only piqued more interest in the docuseries. Fans will want to get a look at what went wrong at the tournament along with reactions to results during the World Cup.

Led by since resigned head coach Vlatko Andonovski, the USWNT had their earliest ever exit at a World Cup with a Round of 16 defeat to Sweden. The loss against the Swedes wasn’t a one-time fluke as the USWNT looked even worse in the group stage.

An underwhelming 3-0 victory vs. Vietnam, a feisty and sloppy 1-1 draw vs. the Dutch and a pathetic 0-0 draw vs. Portugal were the USWNT’s group stage results. Now we’ll get to see what the feeling was amongst the team.
