Neymar Gets Yellow Card For Doing His Signature Goal Celebration — What Does It Mean?

Neymar continues delivering A+ performances for PSG and on Wednesday ratified the good streak sealing the 3-1 win over Maccabi Haifa in the Champions League. However, not everything was a joy for the Brazilian, who was shown a yellow card for celebrating his own frigging goal with the celebration move he has been doing the whole frigging season.

Neymar goal celebration, what does it mean?

The Brazilian forward put his name on the scoresheet in the 88th minute after a beautiful assist from Achraf Hakimi.

Once he scored, Neymar celebrated with his teammates and then made a gesture with his hands and tongue in front of the Israeli fans. German official Daniel Siebert saw the action and thought the player was provoking the home supporters, so he booked him. But little did he know: Neymar has been doing the same celebration since last July.

Ney has even gone on social media to explain what's behind the gesture: "Grimace for the hate."

The player tried to explain that he had been doing the same celebration over the past few weeks, but the yellow remained in the official's book.

After the game, Neymar posted an Instagram story talking about the victory but mainly complaining about the ref's decision with a bit of sarcasm.

"These things only happen to me. Next time I'm going to tell the referees what I'm going to do," he said next to the phrase "soccer is becoming more and more boring."

Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé also scored for PSG, but their celebrations were deemed OK by the referee.
