LENS, France — A second-half goal from Przemyslaw Frankowski earned RC Lens their first victory over Lille in 15 years as they moved up to provisional second place in Ligue 1 with a 1-0 win after a derby marred by crowd trouble on Saturday.

Frankowski's strike ended a 12-game winless streak for Lens against the French champions, who had beaten them 4-0 and 3-0 last season.

The result put the "Sang et Or" (Blood and Gold) on 12 points from six games, three behind Paris St Germain, who will play their match in hand at home against Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday.

RECIFE, Brazil — Brazil striker Neymar complained on Thursday that he is not given the respect he deserves, after Brazil beat Peru 2-0 for their eighth consecutive 2022 World Cup qualifying win.

Neymar had a goal and an assist but was criticised by fans and commentators for getting involved in scuffles and not reproducing the scintillating form that has made him one of the top players of his generation.

Erik Palmer-Brown's latest loan move has been confirmed. The 24-year old will spend the 2021/22 campaign on loan with Troyes in Ligue 1. 

The USMNT center back has been shipped around the continent on loan since joining Manchester City's U23 side back in 2018, first joining Belgium's Kortrijk before spending a season in Holland with NAC Breda. He made 18 appearances for the Eredivisie side before moving on to Austria for the the 2019 season with FK Austria Vienna. The Violets liked what they saw in Palmer-Brown and brought him back for another season.

It’s not champagne football yet, but PSG’s perfect start to the season continued on Sunday with a 2-0 away win over Reims. Kylian Mbappé scored both the goals, highlighting how potentially devastating a move to Real Madrid would be at this moment, even following the arrival of Lionel Messi.

The 34-year-old made his PSG debut in the 66th minute, replacing Neymar on the Brazilian's first appearance of the season. 

REIMS - Argentine forward Lionel Messi has been included in Paris Saint-Germain's squad for Sunday's Ligue 1 trip to Reims, the club said on Sunday.

The 34-year-old, who signed a two-year deal with PSG with an option for a third year after his contract with Barcelona expired, had yet to feature in the squad since joining on Aug. 10.

Messi has not played since winning the Copa América with Argentina against Brazil on July 10.

Real Madrid have increased their offer to sign Paris St Germain forward Kylian Mbappé to $211.48 million after having an initial $188 million bid rejected, French newspaper L'Equipe reported on Thursday.
