90 days. That’s how long you had to rest and recover between the finish of the last Premier League season and the start of the new one.
The football obviously never ends, but at least the World Cup gave us a much-needed break from Manchester City rolling everyone and Arsenal giving us a very real glimpse into the experience of eternal damnation.

Liverpool eviscerated Napoli on Saturday in the final preseason tune-up for Jurgen Klopp’s side. The match finished 5-0 and, perhaps most importantly, the Mo Salah goal vs Napoli showed the Egyptian is already in midseason form.

It was a preseason friendly, but we don’t care. It was offside, but that doesn’t matter. The Juan Mata touch vs Liverpool on Saturday in Michigan was absolutely sublime.
England’s two most successful clubs faced off in front of more than 105,000 fans at the Big House on Saturday. While Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp fielded a starting 11 close to his first choice, Jose Mourinho opted for a few more reserves. Where exactly Mata falls on that spectrum is debatable, but his ability is not.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho took a jab at Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp’s summer transfer window spending. Mourinho joked Klopp would need to win the EPL now given all the money spent on Fabinho, Naby Keita and the record deal with Alisson.
Klopp has yet to win any silverware with Liverpool despite taking the Reds to a Champions League final against Real Madrid. The 51-year-old German did shoot back at Mourinho though.
At this point, it’s hard to imagine Mo Salah being picked last for anything. He’s already a Liverpool hero having scored 43 goals in all competitions in his first season at Anfield. And, well, Egypt is so obsessed with him after he led the Pharoahs to their first World Cup in 28 years that schools have been renamed after him. If you want to win, if you need a clutch performance, Salah is probably your first choice.

When Fábio Henrique Tavares, Fabinho as we know him, signed a roughly $57.4 million long-term deal with Liverpool in July, Kylian Mbappé texted him a congratulations on the move. Now, Fabinho wants his former Monaco teammate to join him.
