Manchester City Women's midfielder Jill Scott headbutted Arsenal's Jade Bailey during Arsenal's 1-0 win over the weekend. Scott was (obviously) red carded and her squad was thus forced to play a woman down for the remainder of the match. Scott was upset following a challenge from Bailey and tweeted after the game, "Great effort from all the girls, I want to apologise for the incident which led to me being sent off, gutted to let every1 @MCWFC down today."

As if Real Madrid transfer rumors needed any more help, Real youth coach Zinedine Zidane has come out and said that he has been keeping an eye on Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard. 

"There are players I keep an eye on and who I like a lot, like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, of course," he said. "They're fantastic players, but I like Eden Hazard a lot too. I enjoy everything he does on the pitch.”

As an Arsenal fan, the majority of the time I spend rooting for my team is split between pure goal-scoring joy and crippling anxiety. Every season seemingly goes the same: we have a good run that is always balanced out with a seemingly unexplainable drop in form, resulting in a 4th place finish in the Premier League, a round-of-16 Champions League exit, and various other forms of anticlimactic failure. This seasonal habit had led my team to win a grand total of zero trophies in almost a decade, and many, many Arsenal fans felt that it would never end.

The Daily Express declares this morning to all who will listen that Liverpool are CLOSE (their emphasis, not ours) to securing the services of Radamel Falcao for the princely sum of $50 million, funding any move by offloading FLOP (again, their emphasis) Mario Balotellit to Sampdoria.

I first heard of Hector Bellerin when news broke that he had broken Theo Walcott’s long-standing training ground record for the 40 meter sprint. From that moment forward, I knew that Bellerin had the potential to be something special. Few players can command that kind of speed and, as an Arsenal fan, I salivated at the prospect of having him bombard down the sidelines, overlapping the likes of Ozil, Sanchez and Chamberlain, flinging a cross into Olivier Giroud or Danny Welbeck.

Sky Sports News have gone balls-out this morning with the audacious claim that Manchester United are exploring the possibility of a swap deal with Real Madrid that would see Gareth Bale move to Old Trafford this summer with Angel di Maria heading back to the Santiago Bernabau.

It seems that Memphis Depay is the next in a long tradition of talented Dutchmen to cut their teeth in their native Holland, only to leave for bigger and better things once they have proved themselves. The PSV Eindhoven winger has impressed all year, putting together a run of form that started with him breaking out at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and likely ending with him as the top scorer in the Eredivise this year: he has 19 goals, second place has 16, and only 4 match days remain.

Bas van Velzen’s Facebook page describes him as “a youtube who take free kicks in a weird way.” Now, he’s from the Netherlands, so you’ll have to excuse his poor English, as hilarious as “a youtube” might be. Beyond all of that is the latter half of the sentence: his assertion that he takes free kicks “in a weird way.” Now, we can’t be sure if he is being genuine, or genuinely sarcastic, because his free kicks are anything but weird. As a matter of fact, they’re absolutely amazing.  

Last week, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson posted a picture of himself on Instagram next to Liverpool’s iconic “You’ll Never Walk Alone” sign. Is this an indication that Johnson is a Scouser at heart?

So, this is a nice story. Juan Mata surprised a Manchester United employee who had worked for the club for 15 years with a bottle of wine and a signed jersey. And undoubtedly a warm fuzzy feeling. Maybe Manchester United isn't a gigantic, soulless club that everyone with a conscience hates...Wait, what are we saying? Feel free to continue to hate Manchester United, despite this one nice thing that they did.
