With the countdown to the 2026 World Cup now underway, this summer's Gold Cup — now just 75 days away — takes on an added significance with CONCACAF rivals the United States, Mexico and Canada all aiming for regional supremacy. 

The Gold Cup begins on June 24 and ends with the final on July 16 at SoFi Stadium in California. On Monday, CONCACAF announced the 14 other venues that'll host the 16 teams attempting to claim the region's crown (including invited guest Qatar).

The Argentina national team's training facility has been renamed after talismanic captain Lionel Messi in recognition of his World Cup heroics and star-studded career, the country's football association (AFA) said on Saturday.

The Casa de Ezeiza in Buenos Aires, which houses the national team set-up, will now be known as Lionel Andrés Messi "in tribute to the best player in the world," AFA president Claudio Tapia wrote on Twitter.

"Welcome to the world champion's house," Tapia said at the unveiling ceremony attended by current and former Argentina players.

The 2023 Leagues Cup is heating up. 48 days after announcing the groups and the format in which MLS and Liga MX clubs will face each other in some sort of summer World Cup-style extravaganza, the tournament revealed its entire match schedule and bracket.

And oh, boy! Be prepared for an overdose of games.

SURABAYA, Indonesia - An Indonesian court handed prison sentences to two soccer match officials on Thursday after finding them guilty of negligence over one of the world's deadliest stadium stampedes.

With kick-off less than 20 weeks away (135 days) and Wednesday serving as the global celebration of International Women's Day, FIFA marked the occasion by unveiling the official poster for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The main poster is accompanied by one for each of the nine host cities, "highlighting the iconic and historical landmarks, wildlife and vibrant cultures that are unique to each."

U.S. Soccer could have two new venues to call home in the coming years as Indianapolis and Hawaii are preparing to construct new stadiums. 

In Indianapolis the $1 billion Eleven Park is set to break ground in May 2023 which will include a 20,000-seat soccer stadium for USL Championship side Indy Eleven. There are also ambitions to bring a Major League Soccer team to the city.
