This is, without a doubt, my favorite time of the year. On Sunday, the FC Bayern Munich squad made its annual trip Oktoberfest, which is perhaps the greatest tradition in all of sports. I would play for Bayern Munich just for this reason. I would also drink five steins of Hofbräu Dunkel Weizen, miss practice the next day, get sent to train with the reserves and be the subject of an article on The18 entitled “Whatever Happened To Connor Fleming? A Case Of Too Much Dunkel,” but that’s besides the point.

This past weekend, a photo emerged on Twitter of a bloodied young Liverpool supporter standing next to star attacker Mohamed Salah. That child is 11-year-old Reds supporter Louis Fowler, who’d spotted Salah leaving Liverpool’s Melwood training ground in his car and attempted to keep pace with the vehicle while waving at the Egyptian.

Unfortunately for Louis, in his heightened state of distraction he ran directly into a lamp post, knocking himself out and breaking his nose in the process. 

Carson Pickett isn’t exactly a household name. But in a year in which the USWNT won the Women’s World Cup, a picture of the Orlando Pride defender might be the most indelible soccer image of 2019.

Atlanta, The New MLS Hotbed

Mercedes-Benz Stadium is home to a team that played its part in the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history. The only problem is that the Atlanta Falcons were on the wrong end of that comeback. However, the stadium is also home to the hottest property in MLS, Atlanta United.

It's come as a bit of a surprise to most around the country that Atlanta and its community has taken so well to the new club, although it sure helps that the team is performing incredibly.
