Sophia Wilson pregnant!? You read that correctly, the United States women’s national team striker and “Triple Espresso” member announced on Wednesday that she and her husband Michael Wilson are expecting.

Wilson, née Smith, had perhaps the greatest past year which included winning gold with the USWNT in Paris, marrying NFL receiver Michael Wilson and now announcing her pregnancy.

Lindsey Horan name change: USWNT captain to wear ‘Heaps’ on back of jersey

A Lindsey Horan name change might confuse fans initially in the 2025 SheBelieves Cup, but have no fear United States women’s national team supporters because the captain is still here.

The USWNT leader and Lyon midfielder will debut her husband’s surname, “Heaps”, on the back of her jersey for the first time in this year’s SheBelieves Cup.

Lindsey and her new husband, Tyler Heaps, tied the knot in December 2024. After playing 161 games with “Horan” on the back of her kit for the USWNT, she’ll now play under a new name.

LONDON — Australia women's soccer captain Sam Kerr was on Tuesday found not guilty of racially abusing a British police officer after a dispute with a cab driver.

Kerr, who has Indian ancestry, called officer Stephen Lovell "stupid and white" after police were called following a drunken dispute with a cab driver in the early hours of January 30, 2023.

Ladies and gentlemen, Hope Solo is coming back. Legendary United States women’s national goalkeeper Solo is set to make her first appearance in the sport since her retirement in 2016 as she’s entering a team into The Soccer Tournament (TST) this summer.

TST is an annual 7-vs-7 tournament in Cary, North Carolina, where the winning team takes home $1 million. Solo, 43, announced she’s entering a team in the women’s tournament where she could face former teammates like Ali Krieger, Heather O’Reilly and Carli Lloyd who play for the US Women squad.

LONDON — Australia women's soccer captain Sam Kerr said she felt British police treated her differently because of the color of her skin, as she gave evidence in a London court on Wednesday while on trial accused of racially abusing a white police officer.

Kerr, who has Indian ancestry, told officer Stephen Lovell that "you guys are fucking stupid and white" after police were called following a drunken dispute with a cab driver in the early hours of Jan. 30, 2023.

Crystal Dunn and Jenna Nighswonger latest USWNT player to leave NWSL for European club

United States women’s national team fans have noticed a new trend happening. American players are flocking across the pond with more USWNT players in Europe by the week.

The biggest story in January was Chelsea breaking the bank and spending $1.1 million on Naomi Girma from San Diego Wave FC. This set the record for the most expensive transfer in women’s soccer history.

Two more USWNT players have also left the NWSL as Jenna Nighswonger and Crystal Dunn both departed Gotham FC for European clubs.

Recognition for her work last year came not only from U.S. Soccer as she was named the Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year and selected in FIFA’s Best Women’s XI lineup.
