USWNT Stars Christen Press And Alana Cook Score Massive Goals Abroad

It was a massive Sunday for USWNT players abroad as Alana Cook’s PSG hosted Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal showdown, while over in England Christen Press’s Manchester United continued its push for a place in next season’s tournament by welcoming Tottenham.

After knocking out eternal rival Lyon in the quarterfinals, PSG was sent crashing back down to Earth in the 13th minute after Jennifer Hermoso opened the scoring for Barça.

However, Cook found the equalizer in the 21st minute with a close-range header.

The 24-year-old right back has two USWNT appearances and was part of the squad that played a pair of April friendlies against Sweden and France.

Over in Greater Manchester, Christen Press scored the second goal for the Red Devils in their 4-1 win over Tottenham.

Tottenham’s lone goal was struck by Australia’s Alanna Kennedy, and it’s worth a watch.

The victory keeps United level on points with third-place Arsenal (the top three qualify for the Champions League) although the Gunners maintain a game in hand. The Red Devils have two matches remaining, against Bristol City and Everton.
