In the first half against Sunderland, Everton looked listless, stuck even. They kept posting up Ross Barkley like 40 yards away from the goal, and it was not working. Romelu Lukaku only touched the ball 10 times and still probably should have had two goals.
In the second half against Sunderland, Gerard Deulofeu came on for Barkley and Lukaku ended his 11-match scoring drought then added two more for good measure.

Lukaku is one of those guys who scores in streaks, but when he's on he's as dangerous as anyone in the Premier League. He was on an 11-game scoring drought and then scored three goals in 11 minutes. That's not how that's supposed to work.
The problem for both Everton fans and opposing defenses is you never know which Lukaku you're going to get, or when he's going to flip the switch. so you have to always be on your toes. Sunderland were not on their toes. They let him get a free header right in front of the net and after that it was very obvious Lukaku could not and would not be stopped for the rest of the game.
Near the end of the match, one of the announcers remarked that Lukaku could have had "six or seven" and it was true. If anything, Sunderland were lucky to get away only three down. Not that they or their supporters will feel that way.
