Partizan’s Everton Luiz Exits Match In Tears After A Torrent Of Racial Abuse From Rival Supporters

Partizan's Brazilian midfielder Everton Luiz was seen leaving the pitch in tears after his side’s match against local Belgrade rival FK Rad. After being subjected to monkey noises and an insulting banner during the game, Luiz approached Rad supporters at the end of the match and gave them the finger after Partizan clinched a 1-0 victory.

The Rad players responded by trying to start a brawl with Luiz while his teammates defended him. By the end, Luiz could be seen leaving the field disconsolate.

“I couldn’t hold back the tears as I had to face racist insults from the terraces for 90 minutes,” said Luiz. “I was even more shocked by the attitude of opposing players who, instead of calming things down, supported this behavior. They were all attacking me.”

Watching the Rad players applaud their supporters is sickening, but even worse is the admission from Partizan coach Marko Nikolic that Everton would likely face disciplinary action from the club.

Will Rad supporters face any punishment? As Nikolic said, this is just “a return to the reality of Serbian football.”
