England’s World Cup star defender Harry Maguire is rumored to be lining up a transfer to Manchester United from Leicester City. The summer transfer window closes on Aug. 9 and the transfer deadlock between the two English clubs isn’t helping either. Still, the possibility remains.
United's Jose Mourinho is frantically looking for a fresh center back to complement Eric Bailly, with the Swedish Victor Lindelof likely to be loaned or sold. Metro estimated the Harry Maguire Manchester United transfer to be between $72 million and $98 million.
As much as the former Hull player is not devoid of defending skill, he’s also really good with his head.

However, Leicester has multiple reasons not to let go of Maguire. The selling of Algerian Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City would leave the club in greater peril if Maguire is released too.
Maguire recently vacationed in Ibiza and the so called “Slab head” was spotted heading a ball inside a nightclub.

The 25-year-old, who won Leicester’s Player of the Year award for his great first season with the Foxes, is also only a year into his five-year contract after his transfer from Hull City in the summer of 2017. Mourinho’s comments on Maguire don’t help the situation either.
The Manchester United boss accused Maguire of diving during the World Cup match between England and Colombia during punditry duties with Russia Today.
“I was surprised to see central defenders like Harry Maguire, normally he is a very honest guy, diving in the box asking the referee for VAR,” Mourinho said, as reported by Manchester Evening News. “Every team has lots of diving, lots of pretending, lots of putting pressure on the referee. The game loses quality, and for me that was the negative point.”

Maguire would incentivize a stronger defensive formation for the Red Devils but it seems the stalemates concerning his transfer prove a not so promising prospect. Unless Mourinho pulls a Liverpool and offers a record breaking transfer fee.
