Andy Carroll To Chelsea Rumors Enter The Twilight Zone

There's buzz in London about the Andy Carroll to Chelsea transfer rumors. The 29-year-old striker is reportedly unfit for training as a result of an ankle injury, although there are conflicting reports about that.

According to the Mirrorankle scans indicate he is just fine. According to The Telegraph, he could be out for four to six weeks. It's all as strange as the transfer rumor itself.

Carroll has 18 months left on his contract with the Hammers, but it seems like he would rather switch clubs sooner than that. Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is reportedly looking to sign an efficient striker as Alvaro Morata has failed to score in the last few games while missing some clear chances.

There are questions as to whether Chelsea would sign Carroll on loan or permanently. However, it seems like West Ham would rather sell at around £20 million.

There is some skepticism as to whether Carroll is really the solution to Chelsea's scoring issues. The Englishman has managed to score only two times this season in another injury-plagued campaign. Moreover, at 29, Carroll is not a player with a high resale value, and he also has that notorious injury record, all of which makes Chelsea's interest in him rather surprising.

On the other hand, West Ham is not doing too well either with regards to goal scoring. Javier "Chicharito" Hernández has failed to live up to the expectations placed on him thus far and is reportedly up for sale too.

Do you think Carroll would be a good signing for Chelsea? Can West Ham afford to lose one of their strikers?
