9-Year-Old Applies To Be A Professional Manager, Gets A Big Surprise

Did you have a job when you were nine? A lemonade stand? A paper route, perhaps? What about manager of a professional football team? For one youngster, that could have been a reality (albeit a very far-fetched one).

Thomas Fielding, a nine-year-old Bolton Wanderers supporter, wrote a letter applying to be the manager when Dougie Freeman got the axe in October.

The letter:

Neil Lennon, the man who actualy got the job, went to one of Fielding's U-10 practices and signed autographs. Fielding and his teammates got Bolton Wanderers home jerseys with "OXFORD GROVE 10" (Fielding's team's name) on the back. Not a bad consolation prize for a 9-year-old superfan. Maybe one day we'll see him back in the Premier League.
