17-year-old Mexican Diego Lainez Could Be More Expensive Than Chicharito And Christian Pulisic

In recent days a (wild) rumor has spread saying Club América’s jewel, 17-year-old Diego Lainez, could be sold for the staggering amount of $35-41.8 million in 2018. TV Azteca reporter Omar Zerón recently tweeted that several European teams are looking to sign the young player in order to develop him and turn the left-footed Mexican into a star.

Lainez made his debut with “Las Águilas” earlier this year, while manager Ricardo La Volpe was still in charge. Since then, the U-17 Mexican international has played a total of 12 games for the club, failing yet to score but showing glimpses of remarkable talent and providing two assists. Look at Lainez’s best skills and dribbles in the video below.

At the moment, the young offensive midfielder has temporarily left Club América in order to play in the U-17 World Cup in India.

If you had $35 million and a team to manage, who would you rather buy, Diego Lainez or one, or a combination of, the following ten (older) players?

Marco Reus ($41.8 million)

Arturo Vidal ($41.8 million)

Mateo Kovacic ($29.8 million)

Olivier Giroud ($26.2 million)

Chicharito ($21.9 million)

Christian Pulisic ($21.5 million)

Radamel Falcao ($17.9 million)

Raúl Jiménez ($14.3 million)

André-Pierre Gignac ($7.1 million)

Bobby Wood ($5.3 million)

Surely, Lainez's future looks quite promising so far. The only problem with promises is uncertainty. Their fulfillment or failure is always differed into the future. Will the young Mexican deliver? Do you think some team will actually pay such a stratospheric amount to sign him?
